OFFICERS
The Officers of the Association shall consist of a President, a 1 an Vice-President and a 2nd Vice- President, a Secretary, an Assistant Secretary,
Treasurer and an Assistant Treasurer, all of whom shall be elected at the Annual General Meeting and hold offices for one year. Notwithstanding the foregoing, all officers shall hold office until their successors are elected.
MANAGING COMMITTEE
There shall be a Managing Committee of the Association consisting of the Officers of the Association and eight (8) members elected at the Annual General Meeting, four (4) of which shall be members residing in the parish of St. Catherine. The Committee shall hold meetings as often as may be necessary, but no less than once per quarter and shall execute the work of the Association in accordance with the aims and objective of the Association.
No less than two meetings per year shall be held at the St. Jago High School to which all members of the Association should be invited.
The Committee is empowered to co-opt members, and appoint any member of the Association to fill a vacancy on the Committee occurring during the year.
The Committee shall appoint three trustees of the Association who shall continue in office at the Committee’s pleasure.
A quorum at the meetings of the Committee shall be five (5) members. In the absence of the President and both Vice-Presidents at any meeting of the Committee the members shall elect a Chairperson presiding at a meeting of the Committee shall have an original vote and shall have a casting vote where there is equal division on any matter.
The Managing Committee is empowered to appoint such local Committees in different areas of the Island or abroad as they may be considered necessary to promote the interests of the Association in particular areas.
The Principal of the School shall be ex-officio, a member of the Committee.
